  1. 1.What is Breaking Boundaries TX?

Breaking Boundaries TX (BBTX) is a free website and mobile app that helps Texans find community resources and practical guidance in one place. Explore help with food, housing, utilities, medical care, childcare, employment, veterans’ services, and more—along with affordable recipes, family activities, and tools for moving forward.

  2. 2.Is Breaking Boundaries TX really free?

Yes! BBTX is free to use, with no subscription, payment, or credit card required. Many listed programs offer free or low-cost assistance, but individual providers may have fees or eligibility requirements. Check with the organization before applying or visiting.

  3. 3.Do I need an account or have to download the app?

You can read our public guides and Quick Reads without an account. To view full searchable resource listings, create a free account or sign in. You can use BBTX through your web browser or download the mobile app for iPhone or Android—whichever works best for you.

  4. 4.How do I find resources near me?

Select Find Resources, choose the type of help you need, and enter your ZIP code to narrow nearby listings. You can also add a keyword or explore resources by county. Sign in or create your free account to view listings, then check the organization’s contact information and service area.

  5. 5.Can I use BBTX if I’m working or unsure whether I qualify for assistance?

Absolutely. You do not need to be unemployed or meet an income requirement to use BBTX. Each assistance program sets its own eligibility rules, so contact the provider to ask about your situation. Family members, caregivers, social workers, educators, and other professionals can also use BBTX to help someone else.

  6. 6.Does BBTX provide financial assistance or approve applications?

BBTX helps you find organizations that may be able to assist you. We do not issue benefits, distribute assistance funds, or approve applications. Contact the organization listed to confirm eligibility, available funding, required documents, and how to apply. Before traveling, ask whether you need an appointment.

  7. 7.Can BBTX help me understand what to do next?

Yes. Our Guides & Resources include checklists, how-tos, and educational materials to help you understand your options and take the next step. Quick Reads offer practical guidance on everyday challenges. In the mobile app, guides also include audio options for people who prefer listening or have difficulty reading.

  8. 8.What if I can’t find what I need or a listing is outdated?

Try a broader category, a different keyword, or nearby counties. Program hours, funding, and availability can change, so confirm details directly with the provider. To report incorrect information or suggest a resource, email info@breakingboundariestx.com with the organization’s name, location, and details you would like us to review.

  9. 9.What should I do if I need help right away?

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call 911.

For non-emergency resources, download BBTX for iPhone or Android, or use Find Resources. For additional help connecting with community services, call 2-1-1. BBTX can help you explore non-emergency resources, but finding a listing does not guarantee immediate assistance. Contact providers directly to ask what help is available today.
